Introduction
In Magic Inspector, every test instruction is associated with a specific version. This versioning system is a crucial feature that allows us to continuously enhance our AI models while ensuring your existing tests remain stable and reliable.
How action versions work
When you create a test instruction, it's locked to the version you initially configured. This version will never automatically update, giving you complete control over when and if you want to upgrade to newer versions.
This approach provides several benefits:
- Your tests remain stable and predictable
- You can upgrade individual actions when it makes sense for your testing needs
- You have full control over adopting new AI model improvements
How to change an action's version
You can easily modify an action's version through these steps:
- Click the action option icon button
- Look for the "Version" dropdown in the options panel
- Select your desired version from the available options
Version Selection Guidelines
When choosing a version:
- Review the changelog to understand what's new in each version
- Test the new version behavior in a safe environment first
- Consider upgrading when new versions offer features you need
Note: While newer versions may offer improved capabilities, your existing version will continue to work exactly as it did when you first created the test. There's no pressure to upgrade unless you want to take advantage of new features.
You can find detailed information about changes and improvements in each version in our changelog documentation.
